traces - we revive history
Publication Date: 10/30/2014
Description„traces – we revive history“ is an author and user driven platform to give austrian nazi victims between 1938 and 1945 a face. we visualise the 76.000 addresses geographically. the user starts with the author driven map of all of austria – in our prototype we focus on vienna. year by year from 38 to 45 to get an introduction on vienna’s riven history and to the project. each dot pictures one crime scene, one deportation, one life. this is were the user driven part comes to play: as a user you can scroll and zoom around the map – or you can seach for specific addresses. you can then activate each dot and find the basic data from a dataset in a profile form: name, date of birth, date of deportation, place and date of death. here is where you as a user are invited to get engaged – from user engagement to civic engagement: you can upload a picture, leave life details, leave a contact.
