14.9% of proposals by members of Parliament include fully copied paragraphs
Organisation: El Mercurio (Chile)
Publication Date: 02/03/2015
Description65 members of Parliament from different parties —left and right wings— and no party at all submitted between March and June, 2014, 14 bills with paragraphs copied word for word from other sources which were not quoted: foreign researches, government reports, web pages and even Wikipedia. Also, merits and sections of motions advanced earlier by themselves or other congressmen were “reused”. El Polígrafo —which in this issue reaches its first year in fact-checking the domestic politics— subjects to scrutiny proposals by this legislature.
