How medicine follows the money
Organisation: Zeit Online (Germany)
Publication Date: 04/07/2015
DescriptionThis graphic consists of interactive maps of Germany's four biggest cities (Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Cologne) with three overlays: buying power and inhabitants by boroughs and dots for each practicing doctor's office (scraped data from online doctor directories). Bringing these data layers in one view, the reader can see that doctors usually follow the money: parts of the cities with richer inhabitants have more doctor's offices. The interactive maps works as an embed in all corresponding articles. Before entering the interactive, an introduction tour provides some editorial insides.
